You will have the option of choosing the color of your tattoo eyeliner. The two most popular colors are brown and black, and it would be best to stick with these two.

If you’re pale or blonde, then you might choose the brown eyeliner as it looks more natural.

The benefits of receiving an eyeliner tattoo range from not needing to wear eyeliner anymore (if you frequently wear it as part of your beauty routine), to enhancing your eye shape. The treatment also lasts between 2-4 years. Finally, you don't need to have eyelashes to get this procedure, so it's a popular treatment for those with sparse lashes, hair loss, and/or alopecia to enhance the eye area.

  • Are currently using Accutane or have used Accutane within the past year.

  • Heart Disease of any kind (need MD release)
  • Have Blood Clotting disorders
  • Have highly vascular eyelids
  • Have droopy/saggy eyelids
  • Have GLAUCOMA…You may not have eyeliners done. Increased intra ocular pressure combined with pressure placed on the eye to apply eyeliner could be damaging. It is important to have this condition under control and/or refer to your physician for further consent to the application of eyeliner.

You must wait if you’ve recently had:

– EYE SURGERY… If you have had Lasik, Cornea repair etc. you will need to wait at least 6 months before permanent makeup procedure on your eyes.

  • If you have reference pictures, please feel free to bring these to your appointment.
  • You will need to avoid water for 7-10 days after! This includes excessive sweating, pools, lakes, salt water, and extreme sun exposure, so plan your vacations accordingly!
  • No Botox, fillers, microdermabrasion, chemical peels or anything of the like for at least 2 weeks before and after your procedure.
  • Do not tan two weeks prior or have sunburned face/skin.
  • Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior (natural blood thinners).
  •  Stop using any sensitizing skincare products (like retinol or glycolic acid) around the eye area for two weeks before your appointment to avoid irritation.
  • Come to your appointment with clean skin that's completely free of makeup.
  • Do not work out the day of your appointment.
  • You should not take any medications that may thin your blood (i.e. Aspirin, Ibuprofen) 72 hours before or immediately after your procedure.
  • Do not drink alcohol within 24 hours of your procedure
  • Avoid caffeine for 24 hours before your procedure. (Caffeine increases blood flow and will affect your healed results.)
  • Do not wear contact lenses during or immediately following the eyeliner procedure. Remember to bring your glasses. You may resume wearing your contact lenses as soon as your eyes return to their pre-tattooed condition in 1-3 days.
  • Do not Perm or Tint your lashes for up to 3 days before your eyeliner procedure.
  • Ensure lash extensions have been removed completely.
  • Drink lots of water- before and during the session – this allows the skin to accept the ink more easily, without thinning the blood.
  • Bring sunglasses to wear home as your eyes may be sensitive to light after the treatment.

The day of your procedure:

  • Your eyeliner color will be darker than it will be when it’s healed. It will also appear slightly larger than it will be once it’s healed. This is due to color oxidation as well as a small amount of swelling and it is a normal part of your healing process.
  • You will have no trouble driving home and going about the rest of your day normally.
  • Following the procedure, you can expect any of the following: mild to moderate swelling, redness, bruising and bloodshot eyes. If the swelling persists beyond 72 hours or becomes worse, or if the eyes become inflamed (red, itchy, watery, etc.) please seek medical attention. Please call us if this happens. This is a very rare occurrence, but it can develop in patients with extremely sensitive eyes.
  • Do also apply a dry cold compress for the first 3 hours to reduce swelling and prevent color mitigation. 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off.
  • Night of procedure: very delicately wash the treated area with an unscented antibacterial soap, such as Dial or Cetaphil, and lukewarm or cool water. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. With a qtip, apply a very thin layer of the provided healing ointment. Never apply ointment to damp or wet tattooed areas. Use a makeup wipe or washcloth for the rest of your face, avoiding the treated area.
  • Starting the morning after your procedure, gently wash the treated area day and night with lukewarm or cool water and a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil. Pat completely dry with a clean paper towel. With a q-tip, apply a very thin layer of the healing ointment in the direction of hair growth. Use a makeup wipe or washcloth for the rest of your face, avoiding the brow area. Continue this routine for approximately 7-10 days (or longer, until flaking/scabbing has stopped).  Apply healing ointment throughout the day as needed to keep treated area hydrated. **Look in the mirror while washing so you can make sure to be extra gentle. Only wipe gently in the direction of hair growth, no circles or hard rubbing.
  • Do not wear contact lenses after the procedure for 24 hours (or until eyes have become less swollen, eyeglasses may be a better option for the first few days post treatment).
  • Do not use anything on the treated area for 2 weeks (no mascara, makeup, cream, etc). Use a new tube of mascara to prevent infections.
  • In the morning, if eyes are stuck together, use a wet Q-tip and gently separate. Do not rub, peel or pick.
  • Do not get the  treated area wet for the next 7-10 days or until it has healed. You will have to pay special attention to how you shower, wash your hair and face to NOT get the treated area wet.  Make showers quick and don’t have hot, steamy showers. Put a layer of the healing ointment on the treated area before you shower.
  • After two weeks or after the pigment scabs over (whichever comes first), you may resume all normal methods of swimming and bathing.
  • Do not use jacuzzi, sauna, or chlorine pools for 7-10 days.
  • Do not use eyelash curlers for 7-10 days.
  • Do not sleep on your face.
  • Avoid tanning beds and sun exposure for two weeks or until the treatment area heals. Wear sunglasses/hats when outdoors if possible.
  • Do not touch, rub or pick any of the scabs or dry skin that you might see on your face. However, everyone’s skin is completely different, so you may have or may not have scabbing.
  • Full healing is complete within 4-6 weeks. After that, your final color and shape can be assessed and touched up if necessary. Often, even with proper care, clients may lose pigment in areas or heal unevenly. This is absolutely normal and is the reason why a perfecting session 6-8 weeks later is included.
