WHAT WILL MY HOME CARE BE?
- Immediately after, gently blot the area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every 5 minutes for the full day until oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymph.
- Night of procedure: very delicately wash your brows with an unscented antibacterial soap, such as Dial or Cetaphil, and lukewarm or cool water. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. With a qtip, apply a very thin layer of the provided healing ointment. Never apply ointment to damp or wet eyebrows. Use a makeup wipe or washcloth for the rest of your face, avoiding the brow area.
- Starting the morning after your procedure, gently wash your brows day and night with lukewarm or cool water and a gentle cleanser like Dial or Cetaphil. Pat completely dry with a clean paper towel. With a q-tip, apply a very thin layer of the healing ointment in the direction of hair growth. Use a makeup wipe or washcloth for the rest of your face, avoiding the brow area. Continue this routine for approximately 10 days (or longer, until flaking has stopped). Apply healing ointment throughout the day as needed to keep brows hydrated.
***Look in the mirror while washing so you can make sure to be extra gentle. Only wipe gently in the direction of hair growth, no circles or hard rubbing.
- Keep dry (besides washing and applying ointment) until completely healed (meaning no scabbing or flaking left) usually around 10 days.
- Clients still need to keep dry in the shower... steamy hot showers will cause the pores to open and scabs to soften---so to be cautious, no extra steamy hot showers!!! Avoid the water, especially shampoo and conditioner running down, that will cause color discoloration! Keep showers short!
- Put a layer of the healing ointment on the treated area before you shower.
- No excessive sweating (no sauna, hot tub, pool, ocean, etc.)
- Do not pick, rub or scratch scabs!
- Avoid sleeping on your face.
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 4 weeks. Wear hats when in the sun.
After brows have healed, it is best practice to put sunscreen (35+ spf) on eyebrows when in the sun to prevent color fading.
- No Anti-aging or acne products on them EVER! This will cause fading very quickly. This is anything with chemical exfoliants such as retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, etc.
- Do not apply any other products, other than the healing ointment provided, to the procedure area during the healing process. Vaseline/petroleum jelly should NEVER be used on a healing tattoo.
- Eyebrows will require continuous moisturizing, even once the flaking has stopped. Keeping the pigmented skin moisturized will help with color retention and minimize itching. Use provided healing ointment as needed to keep eyebrows moisturized.
- DO NOT wear makeup on your brows until flaking has finished (at least 2 weeks).
Often, even with proper care, clients may lose pigment in areas or heal unevenly. This is absolutely normal and is the reason why a perfecting session 6-8 weeks later is included. Your initial session, follow-up perfecting session and yearly color boosts are the optimal formula for maintaining a set of killer brows.
