Eyelash extensions are used to enhance the length, curliness, fullness, and thickness of natural eyelashes.
Eyelash extensions are synthetic lash strands that are applied to your own individual lashes one at a time. Everyone’s natural lashes are different—never expect your lashes to look exactly like someone else's. That is why it is important for your Lash Artist to assess the health of your lashes, your lifestyle, and face shape to help select the best length, curl, and style that best suits your needs while still promoting the health of your natural lashes!
Once selected, the lashes are applied one at a time using a specially formulated, semi-permanent glue that will not irritate the eye nor damage the natural lash. However, since allergic reactions are possible, there are different types of glue based on one’s sensitivity.
Applying an initial full set of lashes will take 2 hours.
Fill appointments are generally about an hour to 90 minutes.
During this time you will be comfortably laying on the treatment table with your eyes closed. Some people even fall asleep. You can bring headphones to listen to your own music if preferred.
Please come to your appointment free from eye make up (no mascara). This will save time and we can concentrate on applying beautiful, full lashes for you during your appointment. If you do have makeup on, we can help you remove it.
When your natural lash shed, the extension sheds with it. You will typically experience some lost extensions each week with your own lashes shedding naturally (according to your own lash growth cycle). We naturally lose anywhere from 1-5 lashes daily.
Fills are recommended every 2-3 weeks to keep the lashes looking full.
After 4 weeks, a new full set will be required. Client must also have at least 30% of lash extensions left in order to qualify for a fill, regardless of return time. NO EXCEPTION.
Lash extensions will not harm your own lashes. If lashes are applied properly and to each individual lash, they will not damage your natural lashes. The lash artist have been trained and certified in lash extensions application as well as safety procedures. We also wear masks for your comfort.
Lash extensions allow you to ditch your mascara, eyeliner, and lash curler, saving you time in the morning. Mascara can clump on extensions, but if you feel the need to stroke on a few coats before a big night out, be sure to apply a mascara that's water-based and is formulated for easy removal. Do not wear waterproof mascara as this may damage the bond of the eyelash extensions (avoid oil based make up around eye area).
For the the first 24 hours:
* Do not allow lashes to get wet.
* Avoid steam - no spas, saunas, hot tubs, hot yoga, or cooking in a steamy kitchen. Steam will affect the adhesive from bonding properly.
* Do not swim.
* Avoid receiving chemical treatments, such as eyelash lift and tint.
Long term care:
* Do not rub your eyes.
* Do not pull on your lash extensions - as you're likely to pull out your natural lash with it.
*Do give your lashes a lash bath daily if you use makeup on the eye area, if not, please still wash your lashes every other day. Mix a few drops of baby shampoo and water to be used as a cleansing solution. Use a soft bristle brush to gently clean the lashes with the baby shampoo mixture. Finish by splashing the eyelashes with water to rinse. Blot with towel to dry.
* Avoid the use of mascara on your lashes(if must, use only oil-free or water - based mascara).
* Do not use a waxy, greasy, or oil based eyeliner or eye shadow during and beyond theFirst 24 hours, this compromises the adhesive and will result in lash extension loss.
* Do not remove the extensions on your own
* Do not cut your extensions, you risk cutting your own lashes and altering the natural appearance of the lash extensions.
*Gently brush your lashes as needed.
* Avoid rubbing your lashes into your pillow.
* Fills are recommended every 2-3 weeks to maintain a full lash look.
